We have an immediate need for an experienced In-House Litigation Paralegal to provide support to our In-House Counsel and Senior Management. SASCO's legal department represents the company in its legal matters with minimal use of outside law firms. The ideal candidate has at least 6 years experience providing litigation support in a California law firm and is seeking a change to a corporate litigation department. This position is located at our Sacramento, CA Headquarters.
Job Duties:
Filing lawsuits in California State Court as well as and Federal Courts within the state of California and in the Ninth Circuit.
Assist the In-House Litigation Attorney with representing the company in matters of discovery, trial, law and motion as well as some transactional work.
Accurate and timely filing of court documents.
Communication and other support as needed by SASCO In-House Counsel, O/A CEO , CAO and other senior management.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Paralegal Certificate and Bachelor's Degree with 6 years experience providing litigation support in a California law firm.
Experience in electronic filing of court documents required.
Extensive knowledge of California State Rules of Court and the Federal Rules of Court mandatory.
Experience with filing lawsuits and the litigation process in both California State Court and Federal Courts within the state of California and in the Ninth Circuit.
Experience with one of the major electronic calendaring systems as well as Lexis or Westlaw.
Strong computer skills with high efficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and Legal Solutions (or an equivalent system).
Must be extremely detail-oriented, efficient and possess superior written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills.
Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize numerous work assignments in a demanding atmosphere.
This position will require some travel.
